All that weight gained...

So I thought since I mentioned that my doctor had mentioned my weight gain this month I would show ya'll my picture. I really didn't want your imaginations to create their own version of pregnant Allison. So...Lauren, who I mentioned earlier took these. In this one below I am of course talking and being dramatic and it was just too "Allison" not to be posted. And for all of you wondering I do not think my drama has gotten worse since the hormones started coursing through my body, but Michael and others may feel differently. And saying they haven't been worse yet does not mean they won't be worse later...I make no promises yet, we still have 15 weeks to go!

Doctors Appointment

Today was yet another doctors appointment. And it was easy enough, they did the doppler and the baby had a heart rate of 138, she/he was sleeping late this morning. They also looked at my sugar and protien levels and took my blood pressure. Everything looked great. She also took a measurement of my uterus and it is right on target at 25 centimeters. Isn't that wild?

Dr. Connor did ask if I could equate my jump in weight to anything, apparently it spiked this past month. I answered that it probably jumped from me eating whatever I want. She laughed. She said my weight was overall very good she just wanted to make sure we knew why. Is a snickers bar a good snack? And ice cream after dinner? It would be great if my cravings would return because during the first trimester all I wanted was fruit!

So after we got through all that routine stuff she informed me that next time I go I have to have the glucose test. I have already heard reviews of this test and I am not real excited. The picture to the left is a picture of the lovely beverage I have to drink before that test. The sticker refers to this beverage as Glucola...sounds great huh? Apparently it tastes like the sugariest gatorade you have ever had. It comes in two flavors, orange and fruit punch. And after hearing Katie and Jodi talk about the fruit punch flavor, and at my doctors recomendation I chose the Orange flavor. I let ya'll all know how that goes down. It will be 3 weeks from today. That same appointment I get a shot. Up until this point I have not had too many needles, but apparently due to my negative blood type I have to get a shot to avoid a reaction in case the babies blood typ is not negative...this was the first I have heard of all of this so I guess I will have to do some reading to learn more about that.

Now if ya'll hadn't realized that I will talk about anything pregnancy related...you will now. Elizabeth told me I could not share this story on the blog...but I am not listening. Actually when I told her the story over the phone she asked if I couldn't just call one of my pregnant friends next time and share the story with them. Anyway...this morning when I rolled over in bed my arm brushed against my chest and my immediate thought was that one of those precious kitties had drooled on me...but no that was not the case. I had Michael switch on the light...and it appears I have sprung a leak! I asked the doctor if I was going to have this problem throughout the rest of my pregnancy and she assured me that it happens to some people, but not all, and that it may or may not happen again. At any rate I am not running out to buy nursing pads...hopefully it was a one time instance.

Also I thought I would note that in the picture above is a picture of the Glucola, and my friend Lauren. Lauren's cube is directly in front of my office doorway and so I made her wave to everyone...Lauren is also the one who insisted I start a blog and continually complains if I do not update it.

School Days

Anyone for some light reading? Just so we all know how much fun I am having those books above are my textbooks. This is the first week of classes and for all of my friends who took BA 499 at BSC one of my classes has a business simulation! And if ya'll who were in the class with me remember even though we too went bankrupt we won...maybe I will avoid bankruptcy this semester! Anyway my two classes this term are Multinational Business Operations, and Strategy & Business Policy, two management classes...Good Times! Wish me luck! Between my pregnancy brain and my ADD I am in serious need of LUCK!

Nursery IV

Sorry I have been a bit busy lately gearing up for school and trying to register for all things baby. It has been crazy. I am officially done with the paint color drama...mainly because Michael made me promise our last trip for brown paint. So all I will say is that I have chosen a color based on the samples above. Now as far as when we actually have time to start painting the room...that is a whole other story.

Last Friday we also picked out a paint color for all of the furniture. We took a color fan from the paint store to the showroom floor to match the paint to the crib, and we went ahead and did this because the crib will not be here until the middle of September, which is nearly 6 weeks later than when the furniture store said it would come in. Glad I ordered it early.

And Michaels favorite part of our weekend registering! Registering for your first child is very scary. I have no clue what I need and then you can look at the stores recommended products but I don't know why I need what they say I need. Luckily for me I have a fabulous list that ALexa was so kind to type up for me. She shared her experience and her friends experience on what she couldn't live without and what she could live without. Also I have a book called Baby Bargains, that rates all of the products availible on both safety and price. So registering was an education! It is still a work in progress, but I feel that I managed to figure out alot of details for now.

Elliot Nobles Wiggins

I have been sharing babies lots lately and Friday there was a new edition so I thought I would share him too. For all of you Pensacolians reading my blog you probably know the proud parents Ryan and Jonathan Wiggins. Their son, Elliot Nobles Wiggins was born on Friday, August15th, at 7:54 am. And he is so precious!

"Wow... you've gotten so big!"

The above quote has come out of several mouths today, I do not know if it is the dress I am wearing, but I am sporting the tummy! So I thought I would share with you. I have to say I myself have been caught off guard walking by the mirrored elevator doors and catching a glimpse of myself. So here they are!
I know I said I was packing my moo moo swimsuit this weekend, but I am not sure it is really going to work either. And while I am sharing what people around the hotel are saying let me tell you what my Mom's first words have been the last two times she has seen me..."You're getting fatter!" And she says it with a huge grin on her face, as the woman could not be more excited about being a grandmother! But I quickly jump on the word fat and she says like you're suppossed to be. REALLY...like using the word fat is ever appropriate? But she's my mom she can get away with it...the rest of you should probably not use that word. Never know what hormonal reaction you might get.

TIRED...

I am sooo tired I just can seem to sleep lately, aside from getting up to go to the bathroom 3-4 or more times a night, I just don't sleep well. (one night I actually got up 6 times). Anyway right now I feel like I could take a nap right at my desk, but instead I am trying to get all my work done so I can get out of here a bit early to start my long drive to Port St. Joe. I will pack my Moo Moo of a swimsuit and sleep on the boat this weekend...if I sleep. Everyones response to my lack of sleep is to get used to it because that will be the rest of my life. Yea!

Anyway since I shared Ada earlier this week and it so happens that I finally got a new picture of William (or Jeffrey Jr) I thought I would share that picture with you all. Please know that this picture is like gold, getting Amanda to upload a picture and email it takes alot of coaxing. Until I had the blog I never uploaded pics so we will see if I manage to do it post baby. Or I may be like Amanda who got this picture from Jeffrey's mom, but isn't it the CUTEST!!!

Also while I am sharing pictures I thought I would share this picture of Michael which I made him take on his cell phone. I told him if he didn't take it I was coming to the courtroom and taking it myself. Anyway...Michael occasionally acts as a judge and today was one of those days. He does something called "first call" and he goes over the charges against the inmates with them...atleast that is how I understand it. So that is why he is in a robe.

Go on...feel me up...

When you are pregnant people touch you all the time. Luckily I have not been felt up by a stranger yet! And some of my friends say I want to touch your stomach, but I will leave you alone. Just so you all know...if you are a girl and especially one of my close friends (which you probably are if you care to read my blog) then it is fine. Go on and touch my stomach, it doesn't bother me. Now I cannot say the same for men...if your a man I am a little more apprehensive about you touching me. But to date only a couple of men have touched my stomach and they were like family so it was fine. And if you want to talk to my tummy that too is fine by me. Amelie practically knocks me over everytime she sees me rubbing and talking to my stomach. I think she is in fact trying to tell the baby secrets because some times she speaks too quiet for me to hear...and ya'll who know Amelie know she isn't known for her quiet talking. So Lindsay wants the baby to love New York, and Amelie is telling the baby secrets in utero, and Anne is trying to sway the baby to be a Tarheels fan. Please let me know if there is anything else ya'll would like the baby to know.



This picture is from Anne's engagement party, Amelie is in the brown top, Anne is in the yellow. Amelie is standing next to her boyfriend Kent, and Anne is next to Christian. Somehow Whitney managed to escape this picture...but we all had a great time hanging out that night.

This picture is of the little hat Anne sent to the baby. Given the due date of December I am sure we will get alot of use out of it.

Day 143 and Growing

I swear I grew inches over the weekend...and it should be no surprise to me because in the last week and a half I have been eating like a horse! It is upsurd! I have been told by my little journal that I should start noticing an appetite increase on more than one occassion, but it has not been until now that I have noticed such a drastic change. And as day 143 says in the pregnancy journal these next couple of weeks are a big growing time, the baby will double in size by the end of this month.

So I have been meaning to share this fun book with everyone, because it obviously goes right along with the blog's theme. This is a precious book that Alexa brought me when I was about 10 weeks pregnant. She says that "Little Pea" is the one that they have and one of Ada's favorites! Speaking of Ada, I asked Mrs.Bullock if I could get a new picture of her this weekend and she abliged so i will share with you below.

So now to share some more fun stuff. Lindsay has sent the "fetus" as her card said a little of her NY spirit with this little onsie.

Day 140

Today is the 140th day of my pregnancy...only 126 days left to go. Presently the baby weighs about a pound, maybe a little over, and he is about 7.5 inches long. And this morning I think the baby was fully using every ounce of his weight to get me out of bed. He was doing some serious pounding. Day 140 means that tomorrow I will have 22 weeks behind me and be at the beginning of the 23rd week of pregnancy...I think. It is all so confusing because there are so many different ways of counting it. Tomorrow is the start of Lunar Month 6...whatever that means! It is LNMP week 23, or week 21, meaning that 21 weeks ago the zygote formed. But onto the cool stuff that happened this week...the baby now has the capability to grasp things. But with very little to hold onto he is probably just holding the umbilical cord.

Editorial Correction!

This evening I was informed by Jessica that I had mistakenly left out one of the babies names. Jessica has been refering to her as "whatchamacallit", hopefully I spelled that correctly otherwise I will be forced to run yet another correction. Anyway since most of you do not know who Jessica is, I thought I would post a picture and share.

Nursery Part III (more like 300)

So I wish I could tell you all that the nursery was finished the paint color chosen and the only thing we were waiting on was the baby...but I cannot. I now have 4 paint colors in the room on the walls in about 12 different spots. It is pathetic. But now I think I am going with brown walls. Momma said it is going to look like a cave, while others have wisely just kept there mouths shut. Anyway here is a picture of a nursery that is sort of serving as an inspiration, and a picture of two of the latest paint colors that I am looking into. Now try to remember that their will be alot of white furniture in this room plus plenty of art on the walls so the brown will only be in the background. Also I am using just the toile fabric and so the fabrics will be bright too. I am still on the hunt for fabric to serve as curtains.

1 lb.

So we went to the doctor today. And we had an ultrasound. We've seen fingers and toes and everything looks perfectly normal. My placental fluid is good, my sugars and protiens are good, my weight gain is on target, and my blood pressure is good. So far everything is going very well.


Today's ultrasound is on DVD, so we can see everything in motion. The babies feet are up by his head, he opens his mouth and either yawns or swallows, and he appears to be scratching his head at another point. And yes today we could have found out girl or boy, but we are waiting, so you will notice a strategically placed line on the video. Also the baby weighs 1 lb. today. When you notice the screen seems to be moving...that is either me laughing or the technician poking me in hopes of getting the baby to move for a better picture. At one point the tech measures the head, the second circular measurement is of the stomach, and she takes the heart rate which is 145. At one point the technicians arrow is up near the eyes pointing to a white dot, which is the pupil and the baby was moving all around. The video is broken up into two parts because the technician had to take some other views for her files.

So I will complete this post as soon as I can figure out how to get the ultrasound onto the blog. It is a DVD and it is in a format the blog does not like.
