Game Day

This weekend Cousin David was in town, so in between all the projects I had them doing they caught all the football they could. When I came in from the grocery store I set Michael's beer in the floor and Riley crawled right over, excited for something new to pull up on. Michael grabbed the camera eager to catch it on film. Then he added Riley's stuffed football. On the weekends Riley is pretty attached to his football, he crawls around-dragging it behind him.

Above you see the only decent picture I got of my boys in their game day attire!

And here Riley is on Sunday reading his book. He really loves books!

This past weekend...

Michael was out of town for Blair's bachelor party, which involved a lot of college football and an air raid siren to signal jaeger shots...and one phone call at two in the morning to say they were unsuccessful at catching a shark, so the night fishing was coming to an end and they were going to bed. He had a great time meeting all of Blairs friends, and while he was gone, my parents and my sister came to Montgomery. We cooked at the house Friday night and tried to talk about Elizabeths wedding plans, and then Saturday we ran a few errands and went to Number Sixteen for dinner. It was so nice to have some help with Riley this weekend and great to get some things done for Elizabeths wedding. (I got a new camera this weekend...so here are the pictures)

Doesn't Riley look like a little bioy in this picture with my Dad? Isn't it crazy how much he has grown?

And here we have a picture of my living room floor. Toys are taking over my house.

Here is a picture of Michael reading "Curious George" to Riley...he is obsessed with it. It is probably the 14th time it was read to him that day. I know that my Mom, my Dad, and my sister had all read it to him at least twice.
And I had to put this picture on here because i thought it was so darn cute. My Mom helped me go through his closet and organize his clothes by size, so we pulled out the snow suit she made him last year, he wore it in March when it snowed, and he wore it home from the hospital. She made it in a newborn size, but it fits him perfectly now.

How did this happen??

One day he is just sitting up playing, then he starts pulling up and now he is cruising. I am so scared he is going to be walking in no time!

Shhhh...he's sleeping!!

So I just took this video a little less than an hour ago...and Michael and I thought it was so darn cute/hilarious I had to share it immediately! Who sleeps like that?

I have one word for you...

MASTITIS! I have been so fortunate, but now I have mastitis, and let me just tell you it hurts real bad. Not only does it hurt but it also gives you chills, fever, and body aches, it make you feel like you have the flu. I am miserable, but too busy to stop. The best thing that I read about this miserable little infection is that you really aren't likely to get it after the baby is 6 months...gotta love being an anomaly.

What will happen this weekend??

So if you read my last couple of post you know that Riley learned how to crawl on his knees, and clap last weekend, but he also started pulling himself up in the crib to a standing position. All of that happened in one weekend! He is changing so fast it is hard to keep up with. Yesterday I went to pick him up for his 9 month appointment and while I was signing him out at daycare he babelled something from across the room. Then Ms Stephanie (his favorite), who had been feeding him, asked if he says Mama yet. I said he has been babeling "mamamamama and dadadada" since June, but not in a way where we feel he is actually directing it at us. (BTW when he did start making those consenant sounds he started with mama!) Anyway Ms Stephanie went on to say that she could have sworn Riley just said, "Mama" while I was checking him out. I said well I will take it and I will make sure to tell Michael that is exactly what happened!

And since you come to the blog for pictures of Riley here is one of our favorites from last weekend.

PS. For those of you who have not met Riley in person and been afraid to ask (sorry I always forget to mention it on the blog) his right arm has a birth mark on it. It has been their since he was born, it got darker in color until he was around 6 months old and now it is fading a bit. I know htat some of ya'll must have been wondering!

9 Month Photo Shoot

Riley is very mobile now, and he officially moved up from the army crawl to the regular crawl during the middle of his 9 Month photo shoot. I was so busy snapping shots and trying to get a good one that I did not even notice the change in his crawl till my Mom pointed it out. Apparently he found the camera so intriguing it was worth a real crawl.

His real crawl made it very hard to get any still shots, but as soon as he got what he wanted he was thrilled to sit and play for a few pictures.

Onesie Couture

My friend Emily has stated her own ETSY business called, "Onesie Couture", and Riley was lucky enough to get outfitted just in time for game day. If anyone was reading last year on this weekend, then you will know that Riley loves game day. So it was absolutely perfect that Emily sent him such a special onesie for his first season opener. We were is Pensacola, so Michael and I had packed his footballs for the weekend...Michael also brought his own football. (I guess you could say we were excited about football season in our household). Anyway here are a few pics of Riley from Saturday...he was asleep by the time Bama played...but don't worry his Daddy told him all about it the next day. In the fourth picture below you can see Riley clapping...he learned that on Saturday...what a perfect game day skill to have. He loves his new skill!!
Side Note for anyone who read about my football lessons a few posts back...I am going to need a few more lessons before I can follow what Michael is telling me about plays during the middle of the game.

Seriously successful shots in sucession...

The pictures below are some photos that my Mom captured of Riley and Grandcoy over the Blue Angels weekend in Pensacola. It is a perfect example of why I am saving all of my birthday money up for a fabulous camera like hers. And speaking of my birthday...it was yesterday and I officially decided to start lying about my age...will you buy 25?

Paci Addict

As you can see from this picture Riley is attached to his pacifiers. It has gotten to a point that I am dreading having to start weaning him from them. A month ago he would have sat for an hour or two happy without one, but not anymore. Yesterday when Michael went down stairs to get him from his crib first thing in the morning he found him with two pacifiers in his mouth! That is quite a feat. He could not keep them both in. But we are lucky enough that he can put the paci in his mouth, and we never get tired of watching him do that...it is so cute!

Things Riley Loves

These are two pictures of Riley and I reading after his bath, before his bottle and bedtime. I wish I could say it happens every night, but most nights he falls asleep by 6:00 or so and I do not have a minute to spare if I want to get the bottle in him before he falls out. But in the last two months during my bloging hiatus, not only has Riley started going to bed earlier, begun crawling and sitting himself up he has also grown to love sertain things, such as books. Books might be about the only kid oriented thing he adores, though his other favorites any parent will tell you kids love more than the best toys in the world...these favorites are paper towels, sunglasses, cell phones, and car keys. In fact when Riley first started doing his scoot we would put one of the aforementioned objects in front of him to get him to crawl. When he started crawling after books I was thrilled. Now if i can only get him to stop turning the page before I have finished reading it.
