33 Weeks and 3 days

So I want you to all know that I know I can in no way look cute these days. So please ignore the silly pose and Melanie and I were kidding around and wishing we new some great photography tricks to make me appear skinnier than I am. But unable to do that we tried to have some fun in choosing an angle...and no she did not have to use any special lens to capture all of me! Anyway for the sake of documenting pregnancy...here I am.

And Lauren just so you know...you are a much better photographer...Melanie could not stop laughing!

Water is good! Contractions hurt!

So yesterday I was not feeling so great and around 12:30 or 1:00 I started cramping. Cramping is totally wrong. I thought life without my period for 10 months equalled life without cramps for 10 months! I ignored them and figured they'd go away. But then I mentioned them to my Mom, who was at my house doing baby laundry and working on the nursery. So of course she got worried and said to keep an eye on them. Knowing that after the cramps had persisted for two hours I called the doctor. I was certain they would tell me it was normal and I could just go about my business and I would then be able to tell Momma that everything was fine. This is not what happened. The nurse was quite serious when she called me back and told me to get off my feet and drink water. Then she said that if the cramps still persisted after about two hours or so that I should go into Labor and Delivery and have them check me out. This response hit me like a ton of bricks. So I went home and propped my feet up and consumed 3-4 26 oz glasses of water. At 5:15 I felt as if they were passing and by 6:00 the cramps were gone. Thank goodness! Momma and Michael were both quite worried we were going to be on our way to the hospital. But I am not there yet! As I keep telling everyone this baby is not coming until December!

Luckily Momma got alot done around the nursery this week, so we are almost physically ready for the big day. Wait until you see the bedding. It is sooo cute! I swear I will take pictures soon.

Are they still ugly?

So I read all of your comments to my pumpkin post. And since no one could really see the beauty I thought I would share my front stoop and mantle as they are now complete and it feels like fall! Michael keeps telling me we could use just a couple more pumpkins but I think he is being sarcastic. But I am not completely finished with the dining room...so there is more to come. Can ya'll even imagine what he deals with when it comes to Christmas decor!

Baby Pic's

The above picture is of baby Michael, and the picture below is me! We are obviously both atleast 6 months old in these pictures but these are the youngest we had on our wedding slideshow. Just thought I'd share.

A stranger touched my stomach...

Of course by the time she did it we had been chatting for quite some time. This was the first stranger to do so, but the funny thing was that it was the bank teller at Compass so she had to lean up and over the counter to do it! She first guessed boy, but then when she heard Michael was convinced it was a boy she then decided that it was a girl. She was so nice and we had been chatting about her nursery and my pregnancy for several minutes before she reached over for a rub. She was not thrilled to hear that we had painted the nursery brown, but otherwise she was quite excited for us.

I also had a doctors appointment today. I had a flu shot, and they did all the other normal stuff. Everything is on track and my blood pressure looked good. So it was two hours of my life that I waited to hear..."looks great". But I will take that over bad news.

I hope you like these shoes...

I hope you like these shoes because this is probably all that you will see me in until you see me with a child! This past weekend we turned a corner and I am now SWOLLEN! I am ringless and I have worn either flip flops or these shoes since last week. I knew I was swollen when these shoes were snug. But then this morning I put on a pair of kitten heals to wear to work and I made it down the stairs and I realized there was no way I was leaving the house in them. So I hope you all like these shoes because they will be part of my uniform for the next couple of months. Anne- I will buy something better for your wedding. I promise!

Fall my favorite holiday!

Some of you may think of Fall as a season, but I prefer to think of it as a fabulous and lengthy holiday! It is my favorite time of the year and it includes fabulous things like my anniversary, and Thanksgiving...which is my favorite "real" holiday. Then it leads right into the Christmas season which I also adore. The tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving in my household...Michael loves it! (the music starts then too!)

Anyway I bring all this up because I have been on a mission to find myself some beautiful pumpkins this year. Last year I found a beauty at Whole Foods in Birmingham, but since I am not getting up there I have had to search elsewhere. Last week when I was attending a conference in PCB (and no I did not hit up Club La Vela while I was there) I happened upon to pumpkins in Publix. I think they are awesome, gnarley and distinct, others however, do not agree. Elizabeth refused to stand near the light orange one, and Carolyn says they are just nasty or gross, or diseased! Everything else Carolyn said about them was more of a vomiting noise than an actual word. Anyway I think they are beautiful. So I am sharing there pictures with you.

Owls are everywhere these days and sooo cute!

I know all I do is show ya'll cute stuff lately but I had to share. How cute is the night light that Melanie Phister sent us! It was such a sweet and thoughtful thing to do! And as if it wasn't cute enough on it's own, it is even more precious when it lights up. And every nursery needs a good night light!

And in case anyone is checking out the date...our due date was two months from yesterday! Again, where did all of our time go??? The good news is that today our friend TJ's employees are finishing up painting the furniture for the nursery! SO that means that we can possibly start to put the nursery together this weekend. Which means that these adorable owl items will have a place to live. Isn't this lamp fabulous? I love it and the soft glow it gives off. I thought about putting it in my room for a little while to enjoy until the nursery is ready. But I put it up somewhere safe until I can put it on the shelf in the nursery instead! Carolyn is the responsible party for encouraging more Owl's in my home! She says the lamp is for the baby, as is the onesie, but the Owl hand woven in Kenya is more for me, and as I sat on the sofa last night reading, the owl sat with me.

A healthier cupcake!

Both Katie and Nancy are trying to help me reign in my eating habits! They both have given me another way to enjoy cupcakes withou over indulging in the cake and frosting. Nancy gave "Baby Hoot" (as she and Roger call him/her) this adorable cupcake shaped bank! And KAtie sent me these precious little onesies that came shaped like little cupcakes.

Guest Blogger! Elizabeth Visits for the 4-D Ultrasound

Hi Everyone! I came to visit for Allison's ultrasound and to supervise her life - its what I do best ; ). Anyway, it was a wonderful experience to get to meet Baby Godwin 10 weeks before he/she starts breathing oxygen. (PS How weird is it that the baby is floating in liquid one minute and the next will be outside and no longer connected to Allison's insides? I ask these things because Allison continually forces me to listen to the scary...err... i mean beautiful details of her pregnancy!) Michael and I were quite the entourage at the Dr's office today! (And when the staff asked why she needed so many people in the Ultrasound Room- I let the staff know that "She is just that high maintenance!") OK - enough teasing of my fabulous sister, and on to the precious little one who will hopefully inherit my long legs and my sense of humor.

Baby G is most definitely in for a lot of love when he or she makes their way out of the womb - because i am obsessed. And you will be too when you see this picture:

Hello Gorgeous! Does this say "I am an angel and Obviously I have some EXTREMELY awesome genes" or what? Baby G was fast asleep when the lovely ultrasound tech was shoving the tool thingy in his or her face. Which led to a really unpleasant face which I have seen on Allison's face more than once (mainly in 7th grade when i needed the phone and she was on it).

Next up was Baby G's foot - or what we could get without seeing the "special parts" that we had to avoid.

So there is the "First" footprint and to me it looks like Baby G is lucky enough to avoid the scary IRVIN foot - i don't see a large bunion in the making so YEAH for the Godwin genes prevailing!

We attempted to check out the hands - but Baby G likes to chew on his or her hands... so all we could see were the hands in the mouth. Which is pretty durn cute!

And on to the other baby body parts! Below is Baby G's chest, chin, and arm. You can see the large portion of his or her's 3 pounds 6 ounces! That is the Baby's weight now. Allison has like a quart and a half size baby in her... so the next time you go the grocery, grab a quart of milk or cream and then tuck it under your shirt or pants and then we can sympathize! Plus she has like all that amniotic fluid which she estimates to be couple of pints (so you can grab some creamers for that and tuck those into your pants too) and then we can understand the baby belly! I think i will go do that tomorrow... just to see what kind of reaction I can get... Maybe i will post those for her next week.

So back to the baby... Here is one last shot. And its a good one! You

have to love a baby pic when the nose is smooshed up to the uterine wall (is that how you spell uterine?) and the tiny foot is up to the hand! How precious? This baby is a lamb! And I cannot wait to teach it Raffi songs, and then how to pester his or her mother the way she pestered me as a child and as she does now occasionally!

Well, Allison is telling me that I am done posting and done drinking wine! But I hope everyone enjoys the Baby G pics! Who is ready to meet the little one!! ME!!!!!
