The Mountains, home of dinosaurs and bears...

Last week we went to Highlands, North Carolina with my parents, and Aunt Izzy and Uncle Blair.  Prior to the trip we talked about going to the mountains and Riley got really excited about it.  We would ask what he was going to see in the mountains and his response was, "dinosaurs and bears".  It was a very relaxing week!  And the perfect place for vacation for this pregnant woman.  Hello 70 degree weather in July!  Below are some pictures and snippets from our vacation.

As I am soo pregnant I was not much help around the kitchen...my Dad even called me out for it, but I truly am just not as mobil as I was when pregnant with just one baby.  However, I was helpful tying fly fishing knots for the guys before they went out fishing!  I could do that sitting on the sofa.
Yes, that is 3 CASES of peaches!  We had peach ice cream, peach cobbler and just plain peaches at every single meal!  They were so good!

Below is the view off of the back porch.  Also a great location for fire fly watching!

And here are some funny pictures from Daddy's birthday.  Riley was helping Grandcoy open his presents.  He opened up this DVD player and handed Riley the directions.  He asked Riley to read him the directions, so Riley responded, "ok, first open the box!"  Such a smarty pants!

It was a short lived break from there usual rough housing.  Riley spends most of his time around Grandcoy begging to be "caught" and tickled.  "Come and get me Grandcoy!"  My Dad is particularly good at getting Riley all wound up just before his bedtime.

Below are pictures from the hike that Elizabeth, Blair, Michael and my Dad took to see this fabulous view.  I on the other hand would not have made it to the top in my states, so I just enjoyed the picture upon their return.
Don't they look so manly?

And here we have Riley telling us all about his trip on the way home, "...hmmm let me think..."

His favorite story to tell was when he and Gie Gie went for a walk and they saw a snake!  He named the snake "Julia Bits".  For those who don't know RIley has also named a horse in Brewton Julia and one of his sisters is also Julia.  We still have no clue where he even heard the name.
