At lunch I called Michael to see what his plans were, he suggested we go to the Capitol Inn for lunch. The Capitol Inn, is this old motel style hotel up the stree from the Renaissance in downtown. It's restaurant does a big lunch business because it is a meat and three style buffet...and "meat and three's" are the thing in Montgomery, AL...I am telling you there must be 40 of them! Anyway I am not a big fan so I suggested Dirk's FIlet and Vine, they also serve "meat and three". So half way through our lunch I just mentioned that we were only a couple of blocks from out church and we could go see Riley. Michael was like, "I knew it...I knew that is why you had selected Dirk's." I told him no, and we didn't have to go, but he insisted and begged that I go by ECDC for his sake.
So we went by and saw Riley at lunch and he was having a big time in the swing and just watching all the other babies. I picked him up and talked to him, but he was more interested in the babies. I got a couple of smiles out of him though. Another father walked in while we were there and Ms. Sadie, the head teacher, said, "oh, did you just happen to be in the neighbor hood too?" Of course as soon as we walked out I started crying again, but it is just because I miss him. He really likes daycare.
